Drug research experiment riding 24th SpaceX cargo mission
(See the amazing pictures!)

Samples for COVID-19 drug research experiment by InnoStudio and CycloLab are going to be launched to the ISS within the upcoming SpX CRS-24 mission on December 21. Validation of the results of our earlier study on COVID-19 drug research in space is targeted.

In case of successful reproduction we expect the potential development of novel APIs (in microgravity) which, otherwise, met obstacles for their applications due to stability problems experienced in Earth environment. The results are furthermore expected to have a significant impact on the scientific and technological development of in-space pharmaceutical manufacturing processes.

For the experiment, research facilities of Japan Manned Space Systems Corporation (JP) and Space Applications Services (BE) in the Columbus module will be used.
