InnoStudio becomes pioneer in small molecules formulation in space

InnoStudio is pleased to announce its participation in the novel commercial service of Japan Manned Space Systems Corporation (JAMSS). The demonstration mission of ”Kirara” is going to be launched to the International Space Station (ISS) on a Space-X Dragon in December 2019 and will take approx. one month. The high quality crystallization equipment, including InnoStudio’s advanced chemicals to be formulated, is going to be installed in the ICE Cubes Facility located in the European Space Agency’s Columbus module.

In a joint statement, Dr. Ferenc Darvas, president and founder of the company and Dr. Gergo Mezohegyi, Head of Space Chemistry Studio announced:

”Performing chemistry and chemical research under microgravity has become an unavoidable issue for both space agencies and commercial companies to be adapted for space research and space industry at long term. Our participation in JAMSS’ demonstration project will allow us, beside validating one of our patents, to potentially develop chemical structures with novel characteristics which can result in products with enhanced efficiencies for diverse chemical applications on Earth. To the best of our knowledge, so far, no other research on small molecules cocrystallization in space has been reported.”
